About New Humanism
HUMANISTS are people who strive to live more coherently. We try to think, feel and act in the same direction, and to treat others as we want to be treated. Together, we make up the Humanist Movement, a broad-based movement that works for change on both the personal and social levels.
NEW HUMANISM affirms the equality of all human beings and rejects violence and discrimination in all its forms. It emphasizes the need for cultural and personal diversity, and upholds freedom of thought and belief. At the same time that we create channels of participation for social action, we also create environments (e.g. meetings, seminars, workshops) to carry out works of personal development. We aspire, then, to carry out social change and personal development simultaneously.
IF YOU FEEL as we do, that the world we are living in is not as it should be; that it's a monstrosity that society has the material conditions to provide basic human rights for all and yet does not provide them; that any change made must be non-violent and include both the person and society; and that the best way to advance personally is to have compassion and help others advance, then join us!
